Who it’s for
People who want to ship games, and want them to be good.
Solo devs
You’re doing the art, code, audio, and marketing yourself. AI makes that workload possible. We’ll help you make the result feel handmade.
Small teams
Find collaborators in any time zone, compare pipelines, and see how other teams split work between people and tools.
Artists, designers, and writers
Learn where AI helps your craft and where it gets in the way, from people who have tried it on real projects.
The curious and the skeptical
Working at a studio and wondering what’s real? Come lurk, ask hard questions, and judge the results yourself.
Inside the Discord
Where the work happens.
We’re online first, so you can join from anywhere. Live sessions rotate across time zones so nobody always has to be up at 3 a.m.

- ♫Build Night
Weekly
Build Night
Drop into voice, share your screen, and work on your game alongside other people. Ask for help when you’re stuck.
Monthly
Show & Tell
Five-minute demos of what members built. Show the game, then show how you made it. Recorded, so every time zone can watch.
Quarterly
Can You Tell? Jam
A weekend game jam where AI tools are encouraged. Players vote on the games first and see how they were made afterward.
Always on
Workflow library
Pinned write-ups of pipelines members actually use: prompts, settings, cleanup passes, and where a human had to take over.
The standard
If they can’t tell it’s AI, it’s not a problem.
Plenty of players are wary of AI in games, and low-effort asset flips gave them good reason. We think the answer is better games. That means a few things in practice.
-
Players judge the game, not the pipeline
The bar is the player’s experience. If something reads as generated filler, it isn’t finished yet.
-
Taste is the job
AI gives you options. You pick, edit, paint over, rewrite, and polish until the whole game has one voice.
-
Know what you’re using
Understand the licenses and terms of your tools and models, and keep track of where every asset came from.
-
Follow platform rules
Steam and other storefronts ask about AI use. We help each other meet those rules without hurting the game.

Questions
Before you join
Do I need game dev experience?
No. Some members have shipped games for years and some are making their first one. Post what you’re working on and ask questions.
Where is AI Game Builders based?
Online. Anyone, anywhere can join. Live sessions rotate across time zones, and in-person meetups will start in the cities where the most members are.
Does it cost anything?
No. The Discord and online events are free. Paid memberships are optional and help fund the community.
What kinds of AI tools do people use?
Coding assistants and agents, image and 3D generation, voice and music tools, and language models for dialogue, NPCs, and design work. The #tools-and-models channel tracks what members are trying.
I’m skeptical about AI in games. Am I welcome?
Yes. Skeptics keep the quality bar high. We ask that you critique the work, not the person, and keep it constructive.
Can I start a meetup in my city?
Yes. Post in your region’s channel to find members nearby. Once a group is meeting regularly, email us about becoming an official chapter.
What are the ground rules?
Be respectful. No harassment, hate, or personal attacks. Credit other people’s work, don’t share pirated assets or models, and keep self-promotion to the channels meant for it.
Pull up a chair.
The Discord is the hub. Introduce yourself, post what you’re building, and come to a build night in your time zone.
